Because Boulder Sausage is such a lean product, we recommend grilling for 15 to 18 minutes only at medium heat. For best oven cooking, we suggest using the broiler, also requiring 15-18 minutes. Sausage may also be browned in a frying pan and added as an ingredient to your favorite dishes.

1lb. Hot Boulder Italian sausage
1 onion thinly sliced
1 bell pepper thinly sliced
2 Tab. Oregano
2 Tab. Italian Seasonings
1 tsp. Garlic Powder
1 clove Garlic minced
6 mushrooms thinly sliced
4 slices of Mozzerella Cheese
1 loaf of Italian Bread not sliced
Mustard Butter
2 Tab prepared mustard
2 Tab Italian Seasonings
1 tsp Garlic Salt
1/2 stick of softened butter
Crumble, brown and drain sausage, sauté onion, garlic clove, bell pepper and mushrooms until soft. Add to sausage. Take loaf of Italian bread make one slice almost all the way through 2 inches from end of loaf, go 2 inches and cut a 2-3 inch wedge almost all the way through. (remove wedge of bread leaving a pocket)Then another 2 inches make another slice almost all the way through. Do this down the whole loaf, should have 4-5 pockets. Cream Mustard butter ingredients together, spread in the pockets of the loaf, spoon meat and vegetables in the pockets, cover with the slices of cheese and broil in the oven until cheese melts.
